Giving it some Shillelagh in the Garden

Mummy came home last night, and it was a big hooray!.

This morning, it was back to the grind.  I took Olive swimming, and she was great, she decided it was time to start jumping into the pool on her own.  Her instructor even suggested I let her jump in, and kick back up from the bottom before grabbing.  We did it once, and it went really well.  After that, she didn't want to stop jumping.  Until she saw her other friends had tyre's and other floating devices that she then wanted.

Once home, Julia had to go out to have a driving lesson, and Olive and I walked to a local shop to get some lunch.  In the end, Julia was back before us, and I walked in with a two year old on my shoulders, slumped and using my head as a pillow.  She must have been tired.

Eventually, we did all get to eat some nice jointed chicken, roasted with some tasty paprika and jerk spices on it.  Afterwards, I was thinking of going for today's 16km run, when the invitation was given to go into the garden, and remove several tree stumps that have annoyed us ever since we moved into the house.  Julia had acquired a decent felling axe from a friend, and I set to work.

I think I spent between 2-3 hours hacking away at these stumps, and made a complete mess of the neighbours garden.  Not that it matters, it's never looked after, always covered in brambles as high as our fence, and a haven for foxes... in fact, this may lead to another story soon.

Still, I'm going to ache tomorrow, so I'll call it a decent days work.

The final stump.  It was the biggest and still stands
